It all started when…
I fell in love with food. Hi, my name is Lee Cotton and I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who has a “no diet approach” to eating and is a foodie by heart! I believe in a mind body approach to wellness and eating foods that are best for your individual health. I believe in balanced nutrition and moderation. I utilize evidence based nutrition and am not a fan of fad diets. The “diet” approach I want my clients to have is a “way” of life eating pattern that is best suited for their own individual needs.
I have a degree in Dietetics and Nutrition and completed an intense clinical internship. My professional background is based in the area of fitness and wellness for over a decade. I attended culinary school and love making creative dishes and modifying recipes for clients. My passion is educating clients on how to eat for their own overall health.
My own personal food issues provided the motivation to pursue a career in dietetics and nutrition. I have lived with food allergies and intolerances most of my life. I never leave home without my EpiPen and can empathize with clients whom have food allergies. I also am unable to have gluten in my diet due to my health. I understand the fears of food allergies. I understand GI issues and can relate with this factor.
I believe in the famous quote “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food “by Hippocrates. My approach to medical nutrition therapy is evidenced based and takes in account the client’s health and goals. I want to provide the education and tools in order for a client to modify the diet and make life long health changes. I spend the time needed to focus on your own healthy history and do a nutrition assessment in the initial session. I provide education and support and create a plan for your health. There is not a one diet or quick fix for anyone. I create a special diet road map for the client with the end destination for health!
